Thing 5 Flickr Me

I have used most of the image upload services over the years. . Enjoy my new uploads

http://www.flickr.com/photos/acld-tom/

I have a private site for sharing personal stuff with family and friends. These sites started popping up with the advent of digital cameras and as means to capitalize on the need for traditional finished photos for family and friends who did not do the Internet.

I think HP and Kodak where pioneers in this idea. I have used photobucket.com. They are all adding features to entice users and increase market share. There has to be an end game in this market space, though I have not seen it yet. Free storage and hosting of images at no cost with no ads seems too good to be true.

Great tool for using someone else's storage an band width to host large images.

Over all Flickr is fine. A little weird with the spell check and the left click instead of the right. Couldn't find the save button on the arrange batch screen. and I want my photos in a select order but couldn't seem to do that easily or intuitively.

Found this link of photo sharing websites when I was trying to refresh my memory

I also used picasa way back when.

Thing 4 - RSS

Yep, I use em sometimes. You can use IE 7.0 to setup and read goto tools --> Toolbars --> Feeds or press ctrl-shift-J

I could see setting up a blog or forum that sends RSS feeds to all employees about emergency alerts. For the most part email serves this function well.

Maybe we could setup a Support Blog or Forum that identifies common support questions and invites comments from subscribers.

Thing 3 - Check back later

I skipped thing 3. I will get back to it later
